You may have noticed a few different initiatives underway as the PTSL Board of Directors and Collective seek to address issues of equity, diversity, inclusion, and access (EDIA) within the league. We are looking for one or two individuals to take on the writing of league policies pertaining to EDIA in order to better support the sustainability of this important work within the league.
This role if for you if:
- You have a working knowledge of policy writing and current best practices in EDIA
- You are able to recommend which policies would best support the league’s sustainability of this work
- You want to contribute to the league on a project-based basis, within your own schedule.
We endeavour to provide PTSL with a Collective that is representative of our members – all PTSL players of all intersectional identities are welcome on our leadership team. We will give preference to those who have played at least one season in PTSL, BIPOC individuals, and any members who have noticeably demonstrated the values of the league both on and off the field. Most importantly, we’re looking for members who exemplify league values of inclusion, collaboration, willingness to both learn and teach others, and creating a welcoming space for all members of our community, regardless of athletic ability or skill.
Collective members meet once a month for 2-3 hours. Members are asked to attend a minimum of 75% (9) of these meetings to support decision-making within the league. If you would like to take on one of the roles above but are unable to commit to monthly meetings, please let us know, and we are happy to accommodate and find a version of the role that will work for us all!
