Need help?
In a situation of conflict or harm in the league?

We’ll reach out to discuss and determine which process is most appropriate to pursue for the circumstance. This 2024 season, PTSL members have three options to choose from when seeking assistance with conflict and harm arising in the league:
1. Support
Do you want support to address the person yourself?
A strong community is one whose members have the help, tools and opportunity to effectively resolve conflict and address harm in accountable and reparative ways. We encourage and support our members to strengthen their conflict resolution skills by addressing their concerns informally with the individual(s) involved, when appropriate.
Our CR Coordinators are here to listen and help you find your way with confidential advice, support to those healing from harm and accountability support for those who cause it.
2. Facilitated Dialogue
Do you want to address the other person with CR Coordinators present?
We’ll speak separately with both parties and assess if a dialogue is likely to produce meaningful reconciliation, paying special attention to any potential safety concerns. If a dialogue is viable, we’ll work to create a safe, informal space for parties to listen to and be heard by one another, identify needs, and develop and fulfill a plan of repair and changed behaviour (if required).
This process is flexible and can be facilitated in-person, using a proxy in place of the person harmed or by written communication.
3. Formal Complaint and Arbitration
Do you want to file a formal complaint?
As PTSL moves towards a more restorative and transformative approach to addressing conflict and harm, we recognize that it takes time, trust-building and education to do this properly. While we work together towards this goal, members also have the option to submit a formal complaint and have an Arbitration Committee (AC) determine consequences in a situation of conflict or harm.

Have you experienced harm?
Please promptly report any conflicts or harm to the CR Team so issues can be addressed before they grow in severity. No issue is too small — while it may be uncomfortable, voicing any difficult feelings/experiences helps avoid escalation and continued harm.
You can only raise a conflict or harm on behalf of someone other than yourself when specifically asked to by that individual (the CR Team will confirm this). This is to reduce hearsay and gossip and ensure that conflicts and harm are addressed promptly and with accountability.
Note: Anonymous complaints cannot be dealt with under our restorative process — we need to know who has been affected to establish what is needed to repair harm.
We know it can be challenging to navigate a situation of conflict or harm - our CR Team is here to support you.

Have you been called in for harmful behaviour?
While being called in can evoke difficult feelings, we hope you will feel empowered to seek accountability support from our CR Team and engage with these processes as opportunities to learn, grow, and build stronger relationships.
Being asked to participate in a restorative process around harm you’ve caused (even if you didn’t intend to cause said harm) allows you to take accountability, repair, and change problematic behaviour before the situation escalates and punishment is desired. Engaging in these restorative processes in good faith is in every member’s best interest.
If harmful behaviour doesn’t change after a restorative approach is taken, then an Arbitration Committee composed of PTSL members will be assembled to decide on consequences.
We ask all members to extend grace to themselves and each other (including those who have volunteered to take a more active role in supporting our conflict resolution processes) as they learn and improve. This process will take time and effort from our entire community.
